The Rab Scimitar is a high performance jacket aimed at climbers and mountaineers. It’s very lightweight and easily stuffed into a rucksack. Behind the clean and contemporary styling lies some advanced fabric technology and features.

We’ve been using the Scimitar for cycling and hiking and we love it. The oversized hood, designed no doubt to cover a climbing helmet, works just as well over a cycling helmet and the Matrix DWS fabric repels water well when the rain starts falling. Over-sized hand pockets allow for easy storage of bulky items and a chest pocket is great for carrying lighter items such as a compass.
Verdict
An impressive jacket that is intended for climbing and mountaineering but also suited to many different sporting activities. The freedom of movement makes it incredibly comfortable to wear and the slick styling make for a jacket you never want to take off.
