Verdict
This summer in the UK has been atrocious, with downpours happening near enough every day – seriously, it’s been miserable. As a regular cycle commuter, I have made use of this jacket daily on my bike, and I can say that it definitely works – not a drop of water would get under the jacket (my shorts were another matter). As the rivers were falling from the sky, the rain would happily bead on the surface of the jacket, before running off into my underwear.
Used for cycling, the jacket did feel a little tight over the back, but this can be attributed to the fact it’s not a true cycle jacket and so there isn’t extra material over the shoulders and at the base of the back to compensate for this. However being worn as a standard hiking jacket, the fit was slim and stylish. There wouldn’t be a lot of room for winter woolies underneath, so either buy your own size as a summer jacket, or try the size above for a winter jacket.
There are a good selection of air vents and a detachable hood, so the jacket can suit a number of environments. And inside there are a number of protected pockets to store your electronic gadgets.
This jacket comes highly recommended, and I will continue to use it on my bike and for whenever I decide to venture out on foot.
