Leading overseas agency CARE International is pleased to announce dates for its two popular cycling challenges for 2010, as part of the 2010 CARE Challenge Series supported by WideWorld.

The CARE London to Brighton Cycle Challenge will take place on 10th April, and the CARE London to Paris Cycle Challenge on 1-4 July.

Participants can enjoy 56 miles of idyllic English countryside between London and Brighton in a day, followed by a drinks reception and celebrations at Brighton’s marina. Or take on the hefty challenge of 230 miles to Paris in 3 days, culminating in a lap of honour around the aptly named Arc Du Triomphe and a champagne finish.

All funds raised will support CARE’s work in 70 countries, helping 55 million people find a route out of poverty. CARE creates lasting change in poor communities and puts money where it is needed most: more than 90 pence in every pound donated to CARE goes towards the charity’s poverty fighting programmes. That’s one of the highest rates among all the UK aid agencies.

CARE’s Neil Munro says, “We’re delighted to have the support of WideWorld this year, and we’re confident the site’s readers have just the sense of adventure we’re looking for. Our cycling challenges are great fun as well as a fantastic way to raise funds- we’re looking forward to a successful season with WideWorld.”

These cycling events are a great reason to take your bike somewhere special. The events are doubly rewarding because by taking part, participants will be helping to break the cycle of poverty. The CARE Challenge Team is there to offer support and advice on fundraising too.

Anyone who signs up for the London to Paris event may enter the London to Brighton ride without fundraising, to help with your training!
