An innovative new travelling website is changing the way British holiday-makers plan their time away. Sponsored by Vodafone and created by software developer, Ben Marsh, 'UKHolsMap', which launched 11th June, is the answer to fast and effortless travel knowledge.
Giving users the opportunity to search destinations all over the world, the home-page interactive map is linked to social networking site, ‘Twitter’. This opens up a world of exploring for Tweeters, with the chance to see who's recommending what and live holiday reviews for every type of holiday you can imagine. Ranked worldwide 'top destinations' are listed, allowing for instant gratification for web users. New York, Vancouver and Paris are the current top three places visited, indicating that city travel is an ongoing priority for British travellers.
A Vodafone spokesperson commented: “We launched this map to celebrate abolishing roaming charges between June 1st and August 31st. It’s a travel forum with user generated content to give people inspiration and insight into where the best places to go on holiday are and to see where Brits are holidaying.”
