Nakd bars

Whole food that gives you hearty treats on the trail
Performance
Let’s get something straight before we tuck into one of these trail bars. Quite often when you’re out and about, in severely uncomfortable conditions, the last thing on your mind is some kind of beardy, sandal-wearing health obession. You want scran in your tum, hearty stodge that stokes the embers of your endurance. With a doubtful mind, we opened a bag full of Nakd bars – trail snacks that have no sugar, syrups, wheat, dairy – hell, they don’t even cook the stuff. It’s cold-pressed.
What happened was a revelation. These are incredible, let alone very edible. Rammed with raw fruits, nuts and oats, they’re far sweeter than you’d imagine such a sinless snack to be. Berry, Apple and Cocoa versions were all consumed within minutes of each other and left us extremely satisfied – not bloated.
Each bar crams in about 100 calories to its 30g weight, and because they’re mostly active with natural fruit sugars and carbs, there’s tons of ready energy inside that’s released in a controlled way.
Verdict
Weight for weight these are a top contender for your backpack pockets: look out for the larger 68g Trek bars by the same makers too.

I like taking these sort of things with me when I go riding on my mountain bike. I am wondering whether 'Nakd' means 'naked' or 'knackered' though. Either way it's probably an appropriate name :)

There's an old tradition in Ireland to carry a piece of bread in your pocket in case you got lost so in the wild, so this will be the ideal thing to carry.
