Performance
I'll be honest. I don't really like wholefood snack bars as a rule. They either taste like leather, aren't very filling, or make me think of nutloaf. Worse, they can be all three of these things. I have to say, the first thing that ProBars have going for them are the variety: my desk is currently covered with empty packets that say things like 'Cherry Pretzel', 'Koka Moka' and 'Apple Cinnamon Crunch'. These babies are rich in raw foods (ingredients like sunflower seeds, oat bran, fruit, hemp seed and nutmeg), they're vegan and have no trans fat. Too good to be true, surely? Now for the all-important taste-test.
Verdict
ProBars rock. Seriously. They get the official WideWorld 5 out of 5. Not only do they fill you up, but they're delicious. So much so that you'll spend most of the rest of the day (as I did) wondering how on earth the Maple Pecan bar (ingredients: brown rice syrup, oats, peanut butter, organic coconut, etc.) can taste this good without giving you some sort of artery damage. The truth is, it won't. They're excellent for taking hiking, climbing or cycling: small and light enough to fit a handful of them in your backpack, yet nutritionally packed plus they won't leave you hungry (although I can't promise they won't leave you wanting more).
