Bladefish 1000 Sea Scooter
Promise
A sea scooter for the mass market that can propel you through the water in true Bond style.
Performance
Fast, powerful and lightweight, the Bladefish 1000 is an amazing hand-held propeller that drives you through water at speeds of up to 3.25km/h.
Designed for the professional diver as well as the casual user, it can be used at depths of up to 20m‚ easily enough for any first-stage PADI qualified SCUBA diver. With power coming from three lithium-iron batteries that last up to 40 minutes, this is a serious piece of kit.
The batteries recharge to 80% capacity in around 2 hours, leaving you ready to hit the briny again in no time at all. There's even a battery life metre that you can read underwater, meaning you won't be caught short too far from your boat.
At a piddling 3.8kg, it's easily light enough to take in your luggage on a foreign trip, and comes with its own storage bag, too.
It's no wonder that Bladefish consistently score highly with the diving community, the new batteries offer a working time nearly double what you used to get with any lead acid versions.
Verdict
Brilliant for covering more ground while diving, snorkelling or just messing about, this is a real conversation piece that will deliver you some serious fun.
