ECCO GPS Keychain
Promise
The world's smallest GPS unit is tiny enough to fit in your closed hand, and can tell you exactly where you left your car, tent or climbing buddy.
Performance
What an awesome prospect. SatNav has been saddled to the car for too long, and now it's coming out in the open in an everyday device that could save your life just as easily as it might save you a parking fine. Just push the Lock button to save the location you're at, and forget about it. When you want to go back there, press Return and the GPS will guide you to within 10m of the location, with a handy LED flashing to tell you if you're still headed in the right direction once you're in a 30m radius.
Verdict
No fees, cheap to buy, no need for software and rechargeable - with a battery that lasts up to 140 minutes. It's a brilliant travel aid - while hardcore outdoorsmen might balk at anything less than a handheld GPS unit, this will suit any daytrippers well.
