Sailing company Ondeck have just four berths left on their yachts to join the legendary Rolex Fastnet Yacht Race 2009.

Experience is not required as the race is open to novices and professionals alike, but all entrants are guaranteed the ultimate challenge over 600 miles of gruelling seas.

The race, which has been running since 1925, sets off from Cowes and heads across the Irish Sea, turning back just short of the SE Irish coast and taking the fastest route possible back to Plymouth, via the Scilly Isles.

Ondeck is offering the last few entrants a place on the crew of a Sigma 38 and a full training package which includes one race training weekend and three qualifying races. The entry fee of £2,200 includes race entry, training weekend and races, equipment and clothing, accommodation and meals.

The first training race, Cowes to Cherbourg, is this weekend, 26-28 June, and applicants are still able to join. However, if you can’t get there, attendance at the rest of the training weekends, starting 4-5 July, will be sufficient to guarantee qualification. The Fastnet Race takes place on 8-13 August.

For more information go to www.ondeck.co.uk or call them on +44 (0)23 9258 3000.
