This weekend, Sheffield's Millhouses Park hosts Cliffhanger, billed as the 'outdoor event for outdoor people'.
Now in its third year, it boasts a market place, beer festival, half-pipe skateboarding and free-running demonstrations for those wishing to jump in at the deep end. In addition you can try mountain biking, archery, bowling, angling, kayaking and SCUBA diving, and learn bushcraft.
The venue is open between 10:30am and 6:30pm. Mountaineering legend Joe Simpson is patron of the event: "It is really appropriate that Sheffield is hosting such a major event, as it is ideally placed to become the outdoor activities capital of this country," he said.
For those not so keen to get their pulses racing with full-on action, a boating lake and on-site treatment tent offers a more relaxed alternative to the high-octane activities. There's also a photography and art exhibition providing a dose of culture. Entry is £5 per adult; accompanied children under 16 get in free.
Cliffhanger takes place on July 11th and 12th. For more information, visit: www.cliff-hanger.co.uk/whatson
