Casio Pathfinder watch
Promise
Casio promises a rugged watch, water resistant to 10 BAR, that'll tell you the depth you've reached, inform you how high you've climbed and point to magnetic north if you're a polar explorer (or you're just hiking in a national park). Oh, and it'll tell the time.
Performance
We took the Casio Pathfinder on a kayaking trip down the James River - and a hike along its banks - in Richmond, Virginia. This is a good-looking, sturdy piece of kit. It's very user-friendly and intuitive - once you've got hang of the four main buttons, it's easy to switch between compass, altimeter and barometer. Adjusting to different time zones is simple too - much faster than winding on several hours - and what's more, this timepiece is clearly built to last. It doesn't use batteries - instead it relies on the sun to charge its solar cells (how eco friendly is that!) which is vital if you plan to head off the beaten track for any length of time. This watch also boasts 'atomic timekeeping' which means it's self-adjusting so you'll never be late again - in theory.
Verdict
WideWorld doesn't plan to take this watch off any time soon. Beautiful.
