NightVision Digital Video Camera
Promise
See in the dark – and record everything to a digital hard drive while you’re at it.
Performance
This thing can actually see in the dark. Even in pitch-black the performance was excellent, from the pistol-grip handle, trigger-activated record and thumb-control buttons on the back. It’s all arranged so you can shoot with one hand, presumably to free the other one up for defence against zombies, bad owls and stalkers. The standard package comes with a laughable 32MB of memory, though – about two minutes of footage. Best to upgrade with a 2GB SD card which gives you 75 minutes of shooting time instead: an extra few quid, but worth it. It works equally well in daylight too.
Verdict
With the minimal memory and no zoom function, this isn’t the cream of the crop: it is, however, a great entry-level night-vis camera for experimenting with.

and with the added advantage that it looks like a prop from a 1960's sci-fi flick ;-)
