Lifeventure Sleeplight 750 Travel Sleeping Bag.
Promise
Everything the adventure traveller could need for a good night's sleep in one expertly-designed package. Protects against bed bugs, bacteria and even light-fingered backpackers thanks to Ex3 triple-layer protection and two hidden security pockets.
Performance
This is one highly developed piece of kit. From the waterproof compression bag, which doubles as a pillow, to the two-way zip discretely running along the bag's sleek edges, no detail has been left to chance. So it seems strange that the designers neglected to include a built-in mosquito net in a bag so clearly aimed at those spending nights in balmy climes. On the plus side, the bag is lightweight (750g), warm and breathable. ThermaFibre insulation will keep you snug, even if temperatures hit two degrees centigrade, while the Ex3-treated Tactel lining will keep the bag smelling fresh between washes. It looks the part but after only one night, stuffing was making its way out of the seams; unacceptable for the price.
Verdict
Perfect for longer trips in warm weather, particularly if overnight stays involve suspect dorm beds, mattresses and sheets. With an adjustable hood, Velcro fastenings at the top and a tapered edge, this bag is designed to keep you snug. Knowing you're safe from pesky insects and your valuables safe from potential theft should give all but the tall and broad (the bag measures 0.8 x 2.1m) a good night's sleep.
