Outwell Indian Lake Teepee
Promise
The Indian Lake claims itself to be the 'Rolls Royce' of teepees, with a lavish construction and loads of bells and whistles (not actual ones, though) that you wouldn't naturally find in a single-pole tent: room for six people, a traditional cotton canvas construction and panoramic windows, for starters.
Performance
This is a massive tent. Three metres in diameter, with over three metres head space. But unlike six-sleeper domes that sprawl over the ground like interconnecting bubbles, the Indian Lake comes with a simple, basic footprint. There's loads of headroom like you'd expect in a teepee, but it's the details that make it such a winner - luminous guy ropes, solid, heavy duty zippers and a proper porch that comes with its own detachable groundsheet. On the downside, all that canvas pumps up the weight: at around 35kg, it's a monster of a piece of kit to lug for any distance. Call your porters up if you're going far.
Verdict
It's WideWorld's pow-wow venue of choice.
