Watching Bear Grylls and Ed Wardle living in the wilderness on TV can seem like a distant dream to most people. But now National Geographic Adventure is giving everyone an opportunity to share their own tales of exploration.
The website, which will be launched globally this year, aims to give budding filmmakers, presenters, editors and explorers an opportunity to appear on-line.
National Geographic Adventure hopes people from 200 countries will be inspired to grab their camcorders and showcase footage of their travels on the web. It will not only feature amateur videos but will also provide footage by leading filmmaking experts to be used as a tool to help people to get the most out of exploring the planet.
“National Geographic is always on the look-out for exciting new filmmakers, photographers, journalists and presenters to work on new projects, which is why we have launched natgeoadventure.tv,” said Dario D’Aprile, Director of Online Global Publishing at Fox International channels. “It will offer aspiring talent the chance to show us what they can do and communicate why we should work with them.
“Natgeoadventure.tv will be an online space for users to showcase the best of their adventures, gain interesting feedback and make contact with others as they plan new trips.”
The website is keen for adventurers to put their footage online; they will also be able to share their travel plans, tips, videos, photos and experiences with other enthusiasts.
