This Boxing Day, get ready to walk in your brand-new knitwear with Ben Fogle, as he supports the launch of The Ramblers Festival of Winter Walks.
Sponsored by Nature Valley Snack Bars, the festival will be the UK’s biggest walking event of the season, with 700 walks all over the country between Boxing Day and January 3rd.
The Ramblers encourages people of all ages and fitness levels to walk with them, guided by walk leaders, and enjoy the outdoors for free while shedding the Christmas pounds and meeting new people.
Themed fancy dress walks, tracks for families and over 100 for people in their 20s and 30s guarantee walking opportunities for everyone. The sweet toothed amongst us will enjoy the many ‘cake walks’ scattered across the country, when not nibbling on the complimentary Nature Valley cereal bars.
TV presenter and keen outdoorsman Ben Fogle is endorsing the walks as a way to encourage people to get outdoors in spite of the weather and enjoy the nature around them. "Walking is the perfect way to escape and unwind after a hectic Christmas, and a stroll in the crisp winter air is a perfect way to kick away those Christmas calories. With so many wonderful routes around the country, it really is the ideal time to explore the winter landscape."
