High performance, portable loudspeaker docking station for your iPod or iPhone. This JBL speaker doc promised not only the clean, powerful sound of previous models, but iPhone compatibility and the ability to stuff it with a few AAA batteries and take it with you on your next camping trip.

Performance

Although it weighs under half a kilogramme and is only six inches wide, sound-wise this thing packs a powerful punch. It incorporates four integrated 6-watts-per-channel transducers, apparently, and if like me that means nothing to you, suffice it to say that's what gives it such a crisp, fantastic sound. Turn it up loud and the quality doesn't suffer (unlike other inferior iPod docks). While this is probably a bit bulky to take on a serious hiking expedition, if you're off camping this summer, it's perfect.

Verdict

Sound-wise, one of the best docking stations we've seen.
