The Brontë Trail Walk has been named one of the world's '50 Tours of a Lifetime' by National Geographic Traveler magazine.
The Brontë sisters' inspiring landscape was polled in the magazine's 50 active tours, where it said visitors can be at one with the settings of fictional classics such as Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre.
Led by Yorkshireman Alan Pinkney, the walking tour sees ramblers using Ordnance Survey maps to aid navigation from Hepworth village, Yorkshire, finishing at Stanage Edge, Derbyshire.
"I am delighted to be able to introduce this inspirational part of the country to The Wayfarers," Pinkney told the magazine. "The editorial team compile their list annually, this year ensuring that participants receive great value, given the economic climate."
Editor Norie Quintos said there was no better time to go on a guided tour. "The traditional savings offered by an outfitter being able to negotiate better rates on a trip's components is magnified by cheaper airfares, a strengthened dollar, and more discounts, freebies and extras," she said.
Other countries visited through these tours include Canada, Egypt, India, Thailand and the United States.
