Leica M7 Edition ‘Hermés’
Promise
Limited edition version of the classic 35mm camera that should please the style-conscious snapper.
Performance
You may not want to leave this one in a damp rucksack up Snowdon. With a price tag like this, the Hermés edition Leica M7 is certainly a luxury choice, but as with all Leica goods you get what you pay for. Only 200 have been made, with silver anodised LEICA SUMMILUX-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH wide-angle lens, a matching classic round lens hood in silver anodised metal and a LEICAVIT M rapid winder in silver chrome. The spec is amazing, and the calfskin case and strap are top-quality.
Verdict
All round this is a stunning bit of kit. Is it worthy of the price tag? For collectors as much as fashion fans, yes. Rugged shooters might prefer a more outdoorsy model, bit if the weekend warriors want to inject a bit of style into their pursuits, this is their Leica.
