Guyot Designs Squishy Bowls
Promise
Collapsible for easy packing, yet made to retain their shape, these bowls are said to be great for hot and cold foods on-the-go. They're made of flexible food-grade silicone (plus they're 'ethically manufactured') and temperature resistant to 400°F. They also promise to be easy to clean with soap and water.
Performance
We tried the small one out with cereal and then yoghurt, and the large one with some campfire chilli. They wash down easily and you can then fold them up - because they're made of flexible silicone - and pop them in your pocket or rucksack.
Verdict
If you're camping a long way from the car, these are a fantastic idea. Whether you're off on a day-long trek or a longer expedition, the motto is 'pack light' and it doesn't get much lighter than this. Often tablewear is the first thing to go, but with Squishy Bowls you can at least retain some sort of decorum. Marvelous little invention, even if you'll get the urge to use the bigger bowl as a swimming cap - if you're head's small enough. Or maybe that's just me.
