This year marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. To commemorate, one hotel has decided to offer its guests a piece of history - literally.
Berlin's Westin Grand hotel is allowing its guests to actually chip their own souvenir pieces off the Wall to take home, a fitting tribute to the event 20 years on.
The Westin, located in Berlin;s Friedrichstrasse, has been fortunate enough to have had a section of the original southern Wall in front of its doors since January 2009. Standing 3.70 metres in height and a metre in width, it's this section that the hotel plans to use for its 'Fall of the Berlin Wall' special offer.
In addition to a two-night-stay in the hotel, guests will be able to take a hammer and chisel to the landmark and literally break off their own piece to keep.
The package, starting at EUR 199 per person is subject to availability and is valid until December 30th, 2010.
