Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton are already stars to the mountain bike community. The two brothers and one sister are a talented trio that have been scooping silverware around the world for years, and now they’re hitting a new accolade – their own reality show.
The Atherton Project is an online TV show that’s about to follow the three riders as they compete in the 2009 UCI World Cup Series and the World Championships in Australia. Rachel and Gee already have their 2008 titles to protect, while Dan is as hungry as ever for golds.
Far from just being a patchwork of brain-frazzlingly scary moves on bike, the new series plans to get under the skin of the team with an unprecedented level of access. It’s bound to be good – how can three such ultra-competitive siblings fail to be when the stakes are so high?
The Atherton Project will have new episodes released online every fortnight from May 18th. If you’re hungry to find out how the team got to the standards they are today, come back to WideWorld next week where we’ll be running an exclusive feature written by the Athertons on their best ever biking spots.
