Product
Coleman Axis multi-colour LED headlamp
Promise
A powerful head lamp with easy-to-adjust strap for comfortable positioning, three different light levels (including red for night vision and blue for map reading), plus a battery life that will last 7 hours on 'high beam' and 23 hours on low.
Performance
This head torch is apparently one of the Coleman company's favourite products for the 2010 camping season. WideWorld took this bit of kit hiking and night kayaking - and as long as you don't capsize (it isn't waterproof) it's great for both. The strap is wide, adjustable and comfortable, and the light has a well-positioned dial on one side so you can click it into position - three different white light levels or a red or blue light. It boasts three small LEDs but the brightness these little bulbs give off is impressive, plus the battery life is great. Keep it on the first white light setting (low) and you've still got ample light to see in the dark and it'll last almost 24 hours. Perfect for a weekend camping trip on one set of batteries. At 20 quid, it's also incredibly cheap.
Verdict
A thumbs up from WideWorld. Great for hiking, kayaking, caving, climbing and camping.
