Bon Fire cooking tripod
Promise
When you see Ray Mears cook on a campfire, it's all folded bark and bamboo tubes. Try doing that yourself and you're going to cook your fingers and burn your nosh - try using BON FIRE instead: an open-fire cooking set that dangles itself from a tripod above the flames.
Performance
Easy to set up, the tripod creates a stable base to hang various implements from over the fire - kettles, pans, even a huge griddle that cooks enough for a party of hungry campers. It's quick, easy to clean and you can even use a special base to build the fire in, for when you want to cook in a place where barbecues are allowed but not open fires.
Verdict
Don't get us wrong - rucksack friendly this isn't. It'll take up a whole load of space in your car too, so it's best saved for those big nights on the range or in the garden when you need to cook for a dozen people at once. It's sweet to look at, with enameled receptacles all round - you'll look the business cooking with it. Just not carrying it!
