LG Touchscreen Watchphone
Promise
Could this be the end of the clunky, heavy mobile phone that weighs you down on your travels?
Performance
Watchphones are the stuff of legend, and it’s taken years to get from prototype to reality. The LG version is very real indeed. You just strap the 13.9mm thick unit on your wrist, access your menus via the scratch-resistant touchscreen and voice-activation functions, and listen back to the built in speakers. With an Mp3 player and digital camera built in, there’s not actually much missing from here that you’d find on a regular phone.
Verdict
While practically impossible to lose, there’s a worry here about durability. Probably more of a style statement than a long-term fix for extreme travel, they can’t guarantee the watch is waterproof – and would a touch screen be too sensitive for the sportsman? We think so.
